As is my tradition every year I watch the E3 to see what is new in the world of gaming and I always write my thoughts on the event. And this year will be no different.

Microsoft
This year the main event for Microsoft was the announcement of their new console now officially called Xbox one X. Besides the strange name for the console it its actually really cool and it works as an upgrade for the Xbox One mainly focused on giving better graphics and a 4K resolution. Besides that there were not really a lot of games announced from Microsoft and certainly not any exclusive that make me want to buy a new Xbox.

A game that was presented that looks very interesting is Anthem. A scifi third person shooter made by Bioware. Were you seem to fight aliens using some kind of Iron man suits, not much was shown of the game but it looks cool and is something with potential.

Sony
While sony didn't show any new console their games are strongly centered around their VR headset and a lot of the games they showed will have this option. Personally the only games I saw that could be interesting to play using VR are Fallout 4 and Skyrim. On the other hand there were also a lot of interesting games.

There is a new God of War that is looking specially good, now centered around Viking mythology and with really good visuals. There was also a remastered version of Shadow of Colossus that while I never played the original it looks pretty well and I would like to play it.

There is also a new Spiderman game that actually looks interesting, it is an action game that reminds me a bit of the Batman's Arkham games but much faster and lot of cinematics, maybe a bit too much cinematics. But nevertheless it actually looks really entertaining.

Also they announced Detroit: Become Human, a scifi game where you take the place of an android who decided to rebel against humanity and fight for the freedom of other androids like him. This game has an interesting premise and their main selling point is that there will be a lot of choices and variations in the story depending on your decisions.

Finally we have Nino kuni II, the original was an RPG and the animation and art was made in association with studio Gihbli. It was a quite good game, the new one seems to build upon its predecessor even if it isn't a direct sequel. The game looks quite cute and I hope it ends being a good game.

Also it seems like Uncharted is getting a new game and Horizon zero dawn some DLC. Both games seem interesting sadly I haven't had the opportunity to play them.

Nintendo
If there is something that now I want to buy is a Nintendo Switch. While Microsoft showed a cool console but no games that make me want to buy it. Nintendo announced several games that make me want to buy their console.

In the near future we will have a new Metroid, Kirby and Mario Bros games and all of them actually look pretty cool. The new Kirby looks like a mixture of several previous games with improved graphics. While Super Mario Odyssey is a 3D plataformer with what seems some small RPG elements like exploration and different items to collect.

There was announced also a new Yoshi game that looks simple and cute but mostly that. Also strangely there is going to be a Mario and Rabbids crossover game that even more strange seems to be a turn based strategy game and play very similar to the new Xcom games. That certainly was something I wasn't expecting.

Finally there is the new Splatoon, a very strange third person shooter. Most of what I saw was the multiplayer where two teams fight each other with guns of ink and try to paint as much of the arena with their teams color. While it looks very fun to play I didn't find the multiplayer really that interesting. But on the other hand the single player was much less shown but if you see the single player trailer the game looks like it is going to be really, really, really weird.

Other games

There were a lot of other game shown at the E3 some more interesting than others.

Bethesda alone show several things like they VR versions of Fallout and Skyrim. They also announced a new Dishonored game, called "Dishonored: Death of the Outsider" it looks interesting but honestly I would have preferred some kind of expansion to Dishonored 2, but if actually the game is ends being really good is something I could easily buy.  They are also making a new Wolfenstein game. A sequel to the game that came out a few years ago. I played the first one and was really good. A first person shooter but with all the characteristics of old games like the first Doom and the original Wolfenstein.

Another game that really caught my attention was the new "Dragon ball fighting Z" game, normally I don't pay attention to this games the last Dragon ball games that have come out really never seem that interesting neither visually or in their gameplay but this new game has some really cool graphics, is like actually seen the Anime. The nostalgia factor was strong with this one. But after seen some of the gameplay it actually looks like really fun to play. With a really fast combat and all the things we love from Dragon ball.

Another game that looked interesting even if almost received no attention is a game based in the books of H.P Lovecraft called the Call of Cthulhu the trailer was only cinematic and not much else was shown but the idea of having a game based in Lovecraft stories is enough for getting me exited. I just hope the game turns out to be good.

A new Metro was announced, you know the FPS where you play in a post-apocalyptic Rusia. And I'm interested in this new game because the series have gotten better wict each new game. The first one was good but with several problems, the second one was even better improving upon the first one and fixing the previous mistakes. Now with a bit of luck I hope this new game will be even better than the previous ones.

There are so much upcoming games that interesting that I can't write about them all and I'm already think this post is getting too long. So I will finish with the only disappointment I have in this E3 and that was the new Marvel VS Capcom game.

I'm not sure what is exactly the problem I have with the game but It simply doesn't looks that good. Recently I also tested the demo that was put in the PS store, and must say that it doesn't feel as good as the previous game. After thinking more about it I believe there are several factors that disappointed me, the first one are the graphics they changed the comic style of animation for more traditional 3D models and simply a lot of the characters don't look that good. Second the game actually feels slower compared to previous games. Finally the demo for the game wasn't really that good, it is supposed to show the new story mode for the game. But the story show in the demo and videos is really not interesting and gets boring as the demo is filled with tons of loading screens.

That's what I found of interest in this E3, probably I still miss some games but watching everything is not that easy, it took me nearly a week to see all the announcements, trailers and videos I could find and the actually write my thoughts so I just finish this journal here.

Goodbye.
